Significant PDF SDK Additions and Enhancements
The developers at LEAD have completely reworked how LEADTOOLS loads and renders PDF files in Version 21. This effort shows a marked improvement in memory usage, load time, and rendering. Version 21 has the ability to load any portion of a PDF document and the rendering quality is vastly improved, including smooth text zooming with no pixelation. This release also boasts support to load and process PDF Portfolio and PDF attachments, support for PDF text and image redaction, the "Enhance Thin Lines" rendering feature that clarifies thin lines in the viewer, as well as many more enhancements to our PDF libraries.
Key Document Framework Updates
The LEADTOOLS Document Framework is the core of many of LEAD’s offerings and has received a vast amount of updates and optimizations in Version 21. LEAD has added a new Document Viewer component for Xamarin Forms, the ability to load and play video with the Document Viewer, and numerous client-side rendering enhancements, including digital signature, memory optimization, and more. Support to load a mix of different annotation formats, including IBM P8/Deja annotations, and optimized hybrid caching also have been added to the toolkit. Additionally, LEADTOOLS Document and Image Compare functionality to compare two documents or pages and intelligently highlight changes, additions, and deletions has been added. Finally, support for all Office formats has received updates, such as enhanced vector graphic rendering, document decryption, speed and memory optimization, and much more.
Medical Toolkit Additions and Enhancements
Version 21 brings major enhancements to the DICOM Storage Server including several new server add-ins such as DICOM Import, Export Layout, and AmazonS3 Cloud Storage. LEAD has also expanded existing forwarding capabilities and added DICOM Security to the Gateway, Patient Updater, Forwarder, and HL7 Patient Updater. Also with this release, the Medical Web Viewer provides optional temporary viewing access to images that are shared via URL, new Okta authentication and HL7 messaging can be used with both the Medical Web Viewer and the patient updater, and numerous DICOM and Medical Annotation updates have been added, including high-level functions to convert between LEAD and DICOM annotation objects.
Added Multimedia Support
Within the Multimedia SDK, LEAD has added support for over ten new Media Foundation target formats, including MPEG-2 Transport, MPEG-2 Program, and FMPEG4, giving users more options to decode multimedia files. Additionally, developers gain optimized ISO format capture and conversion, a new live audio processor to detect and fill dropped audio samples, and support within the Streaming Server to use MPEG-2 Transport and DICOM as the source file.

VintaSoft Imaging .NET SDK 9.0 has been released.
The first most important feature of this version is the release of new VintaSoft Office .NET Plug-in, which allows a developer to view and print DOCX documents in WinForms, WPF and WEB, extract and search text in DOCX document, convert DOCX to a PDF, PDF/A document or to any of supported image formats.

Soft Xpansion has launched version 14 of the PDF Xpansion SDK. It offers features to create and edit PDF, PDF/A and XPS documents, to display and print them, to convert between formats, and to export or/and import to/from other file formats. PDF Xpansion SDK 14 implements these features in Windows desktop (PC) applications as well as in Microsoft Store apps.
The main new features of version 14 are components for FACTUR-X, ZUGFeRD 2.0 and for XRechnung, plus an API for the creation of ZUGFeRD 2.0 compliant XML files. With these data formats, the SDK implements eInvoicing into Windows applications so that the created electronic invoices comply both with the EU standard EN 16931 and with directive 2014/55/EU.
ZUGFeRD combines a printable invoice (PDF/A-3 file as visual representation of the invoice data, a digital media format instead of the corresponding paper invoice) with an embedded XML file that presents the invoice data in a specifically structured way.
PDF Xpansion SDK 14 additionally comes with new editing features in its Rich Edit API, with optimizations in the document layout functionality and with an enhanced support of the JavaScript DOM.

Extracting and finding text in PDF documents can be a complex process as text content is not formatted into lines and paragraphs but rather drawn as single letters or text strings scattered at various locations on a page. Qoppa's PDF engine needs to analyze the content in order to reconstruct the formatted text.
- All Qoppa's PDF Libraries & Components are now compatible with Java 9, Java 10 and Java 11.

Aspose.PDF is a component for .NET that enables reading, writing and manipulating PDF documents without turning to Adobe Acrobat.
The manipulation features are abundant and include PDF compression (optimization), tables creation and manipulation, custom font handling, integration with data sources, bookmarks addition and removal and many more.
Being a great component to work with, it nevertheless undergoes regular updates.
Thus, in October the following updates were introduced to Aspose.PDF 18.10.0:

Aspose.HTML is a cross-platform class library that allows carrying out parsing and rendering within .NET environment.

nanoFramework? is a free and open-source platform that enables the writing of managed code applications (.NET C#) for constrained embedded devices. VintaSoft Ltd releases the next major version 8.7 of its library Imaging .NET SDK, which includes some brand new functionality along with a lot of enhancements and improvements, incl. new versions of Annotation, PDF, DICOM and Document Cleanup Plug-ins.
Starting from version 8.7 it became possible to view images and PDF documents in multipage display mode in HTML5 and SVG web image viewers. As always, the architecture is open - there is a set of standard modes and it is possible to define a custom page display mode.
The greatest release note is the created DICOM MPR edition of DICOM .NET Plug-in. This includes the support for DICOM MPR (2D MPR, 3D MPR and Curved MPR), i.e. the ability to reconstruct images in orthogonal, oblique and curved planes from a stack of DICOM images and added ability to visualize the DICOM MPR results in WinForms application.
The support for the multiple image display mode in web has been implemented in all important visual tools and this significantly improved the processing of images and PDF documents. Now one can annotate several images or PDF pages in web simultaneously.
It is important to mention the created PDF/A converters and verifiers for PDF/A-1a, PDF/A-2a and PDF/A-3a documents. The PDF plug-in also was improved and added with support for PDF 2.0 and ability to create marked content.
VintaSoft's test system, containing tens of thousands automated and manual tests, is specially designed for delivering the most stable versions of our Imaging Family products for .NET, WPF and WEB to the market of software components.
